Mass Effect 2 is the second instalment in the series of video games known as the “Mass Effect” published by Electronic Arts and developed under BioWare and is powered by Unreal Engine 3. It features a single player mode which involves an action, role-playing, third-person shooter gameplay. It was launched for Windows PC and Xbox 360 in 2010 and then for PlayStation 3 in the succeeding year.

The story mainly revolves around the Milky way galaxy being invaded by alien creatures called the ‘Collectors’. The main character is an elite human soldier acting as the Commander Shepard who has to go on a suicide mission in stopping the enemy invasion. But first he must earn the loyalty of a varied team. This game features a post-ending feature in which the new player can use the previous player’s saved games to give a new direction to the gameplay. The developers had introduced optional missions that are as intense as the main missions. There are also some downloadable contents such as; single player in-game character outfits to new-plot missions like Kasumi – Stolen Memory, Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker, and Arrival..  The third-person shooter perspective is enhanced in numerous ways like limited ammunition and health regeneration.
